The IT department of LAPP is about 20 people (engineers and technicians) to carry out two main missions:
First , providing and keep up and running the computer systems and networks
Next , providing a support for projects/experiments during they liftime including data acquisition, control of detectors or simulation, production and analysis of data.
Since 2002, the service has been involved in grid projects funded by the European Community, and is an active member of the European Grid Initiative (EGI) and the LCG (LHC Computing Grid) project. Since 2007 the MUST project of the Savoie Mont Blanc University has been set : mesocentre of calculation and storage open on the European grid EGI / LCG.
The service also welcomes 2 to 3 trainees per year.
