Neutrino physics : Study of the reconstruction of Radon events in the SuperNEMO demonstrator

The neutrino group at LAPP proposes an experimental M2 project on neutrino physics, on the search for neutrinoless double beta decay with the SuperNEMO demonstrator. In the Standard Model of particle and interaction, the neutral fermions like the neutrinos can be Dirac particles (particle differs from its own anti-particle) or Majorana type (the particle is its own anti-particle). Up to now, there has been no experimental evidence for the existence of such Majorana particles. However, the observation of the very rare neutrinoless double beta decay process would be the proof that the neutrino is Majorana and it would have major impacts on the particle physics field.
