A HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING FACILITY

A subset of worker nodes are configured to be able to execute some HPC (High Performance Computing) tasks. 16 servers are connected via an Infiniband network ( 40Gb/s) and can execute parallel jobs using the standard MPI library.





A PARALLEL, HIGH PERFORMANCE FILESYSTEM

The main platform filesystem is built on IBM middleware : GPFS. This POSIX filesystem is shared across all computing nodes of MUST. This solution provides a transparent access to storage so requires no significant change from a locally executed job.

A HIGH CAPACITY STORAGE ELEMENT

Beside of the shared filesystem, MUST provides a storage service compatible with the grid data management methods. This service, based on DPM middleware, is built in order to manage large data volumes.
