An HPC facility

A subset of worker nodes are configured to be able to execute some HPC (High Performence Computing) tasks. 16 servers are connected via a Infiniband network ( 40Gb/s) and can execute jobs with the usage of the standard librairie MPI.





A SHARING, HIGH PERFORMENCE FILESYSTEM

The main filesystem of the plateform is building on IBM tool : GPFS. This POSIX filesystem is shared across all the computing nodes of MUST. This solution provide a filesystem very close that we can find on our personnel computer and no significant change are required to execute.

A HIGH CAPACITY STORAGE ELEMENT

Beside of the shared filesystem, MUST provide a storage service compatible with the grid data management methods. This services is build in order to managing and moving large data volumes.

Today more than 1.4 Peta-octets of disk space is available on this solution for the High Energy Physic experience ATLAS and more than 120 Tera-octets for CTA astroparticul experience

Evolution of capacities ( units : SPEC HEP2006 and Tera-Octet) of the computing facilities
