Effective field theory interpretations of ATLAS measurements in the EW and Higgs sector

Interpretations of measurements at the LHC in terms of Standard Model Effective Field Theories (SMEFT) from the experimental community are becoming ubiquitous. After summarizing some basic concepts of SMEFT, this talk covers the main strategies followed in ATLAS analysis in the electroweak (with the main focus on Higgs measurements) sector. Additionally, some steps taken towards a global EFT interpretation of several measurements are shown together with some of the limitations that these interpretations face nowadays.
